For All You Nakee Ladies!

Recently, through facebook, I've noticed that SO many of my lovely girlfriends have become "nakee" or promised to be engaged or engaged. First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS to all of you because you truly deserve someone who will love you unconditionally not just in this lifetime, but in every lifetime and I couldn't be happier that you have found your soul mate. I must thank all of you for the simple fact that every time I log into facebook I see someone's status update or relationship change, and you all have inspired me. :)

Today's look not only comes from sheer boredom on my part, but also an interest to see if I could pull off something that may help one of you beautiful brides on your wedding day. And mainly, this is for Ek Ta, because I know you'll love it!

For the concealer and foundation, I used the colors that match my face. This is where everyone will have their own products but I'll explain how I did it so you can replicate it if you'd like. After using Prep & Prime for face, and Strobe Cream I started by adding Select Moisture Cover concealer in NC 42 on my lids, then I used Studio Fix, also in NC 42, to lock in the concealer. On top of that I added an eyeshadow base or Paint in the color Untitled. Apply a generous amount all over your lid, in your crease and under your lid. (It's a pretty neutral color because I wanted the colors in the eyeshadows to come through, but you can use bases in any colors, as long as the colors compliment the eyeshadows.)

Once the lid has been prepped, you want to start building with your eyeshadows. First, I applied Cork in the crease, and Honey Lust all over the lid. (You have to go back in between each application of a different eyeshadow and blend all the colors down with a fluffy brush in order to get a perfectly blended look. Yes, it is time consuming, but I promise you it's worth it! Have patience!) Once the Honey Lust has been blended, add a generous amount of Amber Lights eyeshadow on the lid over the Honey Lust. (Blend!) Then I added Brash eyeshadow (which is a beautiful rich orange color) from the Spiced Chocolate palette ONLY on the middle of the lid. I added a heavy amount and then I blended it down. On the corners of the eyelids, I added the Heritage Rouge pigment (which is the most beautiful burgundy color) and blended that down with my fluffy brush. Lastly, I added Nanogold eyeshadow, also from the Spiced Chocolate palette, as the highlighter under the brow bone, and blended into the rest of the eyeshadow. In the eyebrows I used Quickset brow gel from Benefit and used Espresso eyeshadow to fill in the rest. (I used Espresso because my hair is currently brown but for my fellow Indians, a really good eyeshadow for your brows in Bark because it's not too dark and will match your face and hair.)

For the eyeliner I used Fluidline in Blacktrack with Carbon eyeshadow on top to not only set the gel, but also to make it darker. This is when I go back to under the eyes and add my concealer and studio fix to balance out the natural colors in my face. Along the water line on the bottom, I used the Kohl eyeliner pencil in Feline, and traced that with the Carbon eyeshadow also. To give my eye the "smokey" look, I took the Heritage Rouge pigment and applied it along my lashline. I finally finished the eyes by using Carbon black Voluminous mascara by L'Oreal on my lashes.

At this point I apply a light coat of Studio Fix NC 42 all over my face (NOT giving that "caked on" look). [Here's a quick tip - Studio Fix was really designed for people who were going to be taking pictures or on camera. This means this is a product you want to use on your wedding day! Reason being is because Studio Fix is actually a liquid foundation plus pressed powder combination in one, and it will give you a flawless look; just be weary of how much you apply on your face. More is not necessarily a good thing.] In order to get a more defined cheek bone and jawline, I used Sculpt and Shape powder in Lightsweep Shadester to contour my face. I add Fancy Ray creme blush to my cheeks, and the lips were lined with Beet lipliner followed by Slimshine lipstick in Ultra Elegant.

It's a lot of products right? Just know that for your wedding, you're worth it. Oh, and I normally would have also added fake eyelashes just to make yours eyes pop more, but when I'm just messing around I don't add them. Also, unless I specifically say that a product that I used is a different brand, all my make up will come from MAC.

Try it out, and if you have questions, ask me! I would love to help you! :)

It's A New Day

One of the greatest sensations a person can feel involves knowing that there is someone out there who believes in you and your dreams. Regardless of what that dream is, or how big or small it is, knowing that there is a person who believes in you and what drives you, makes a world of difference. It's also true that motivation and determination should come from within, and without that will power it will be more difficult for you to succeed; but knowing that someone is there to pick you up when you think you have fallen or failed brings about an encouragement that is much needed.

A lot of people offer encouraging words but very few people genuinely give compliments and actually mean it. When you are lucky enough to find someone who really believes in all the things that you stand for, and finds happiness in the things that make you smile, don't take that person for granted. It's a difficult task to find honest and truthful people in this world, but when that person enters your life you'll know it because there will be signs. Words may not be verbally spoken, but small actions will depict the support that they're giving to you and those gestures are priceless.

When you find someone who calls you beautiful and actually makes you feel beautiful down into your core, you should realize that you have something many people look for, but very few actually find. When that person goes further and tells you, just to reassure you, that you can do anything because you are talented and have so much potential, it's obvious that you've found someone who is irreplacable. This first blog is dedicated to the person who supported me, because without you, I wouldn't be sitting here writing this right now. You truly are a special person in my life, and words really can't express how grateful I am to you.

Thank you.

[Since this is my first (new) make up blog, I wanted to pick a really pretty look to share. It's also an older look so I don't remember the products that I used, but I will definitely post a new blog with all the products from this point on. :) ]
